President's Message
Dear RWC Members:
Thanksgiving is the time that we are reminded of our many blessings. This year has been difficult with the COVID19 pandemic. However, the Riverside Woman's Club is still active and helping each other and the community. We are thankful for our RWC members who are friends and like a family.
Be Well, Stay Safe, enjoy the coming Holidays.
Your Presidents, Marti and Erin

2020 Volunteer Opportunities
Updated: 11-18-20
Ladies,
Our longstanding tradition of collecting donations for the San Bernardino National Forest, which we call Penny Pines, has suffered because we are not meeting in person. Several of us have been brainstorming about how we can do this in a new way.
Today I am proposing that each of us repurpose a container to decorate as a personal Penny Pine bank that we can have with us while we are on Zoom Business Meetings. Please find a container, like an empty salsa or jam jar and decorate it to serve as your bank. We will "show" our creations at our November meeting and add a donation to it at each meeting. At periodic intervals we will use the hive structure to retrieve the donations to the Club.
So please prepare a Penny Pines bank to show at the November Business Meeting!
Thank you,
Darleen DeMason, Chair

Hi ladies exciting positive news for a change. I just received the GFWC News and Notes and we are one of three clubs they featured this week under Volunteers in Action! I sent the postal project to them last week. Good job Darlene and Tinka and everyone else involved.

Gowns, Gowns, Gowns by Katherine W.
The Riverside Woman's Club has only two women who sew little patient gowns, Katherine W. And Judith G. One of them used social media to recruit sewers from the community. The result - twelve women joined them to help sew a total of 434 gowns for Operation Smile. The fabric for the gowns was donated by club members and community
women. Eight club members helped cut out the gowns during a cutting party held at the club. The shipping cost was paid by a generous business owner. This is a favorite project for the club and it will bee continued
Cards for Kids: See Arts & Culture below for instructions
Another opportunity for our club members to assist with is “Cards for Kids”. This is a program at Loma Linda Hospital. Christine B. is willing to pick up the finished cards and take them to the hospital. Teri has volunteered art supplies to make cards.

Cards4KidZ
Greetings: Please use a greeting other than Get Well Soon, or Hope you Feel Better. Use such greetings as: Thinking of You, Bringing A Smile To You, and Have a Nice
Day
Size: Total Size of 4-1/4 by 5 is the most useful size. This allows our volunteers to distribute the cards in person and on meal trays. Envelopes are not needed.
Materials: Do not use sparkles, glitters or glues on items, as they are not safe for our younger patients.
Other ideas: Cards are needed in foreign languages for Birthdays and Holidays.
Cards4KidZ is a great opportunity to volunteer by providing your family and students the gratitude that you have just cheered a patient. The cards are distributed with their morning breakfast.
If you are interested in taking part in this project, you can talk with Christine Beaulieu at 951/675-4900 or email her: Christineanjeff@aol.com.
Teri Lippert has color card stocks to make these cards. Please contact her to make arrangements to pick them up. Call her 951/265-2007 or email: tlippertann@gmail.com

Camp Anza Project
On Going Project
Dear Members,
One of our projects that helped win us a first place award at District Convention is Camp Anza, which provides veteran and low-income housing. They need men's pants, shirts and or suits in good condition for going on job interviews. They do not need women's clothes at this time. They could also use toiletries and canned food to help the families make it through the month.
They are asking for drop-off on the last Wednesday and Thursday of each month at the main building. Ask for Jessica. The address is 5797 Picker Street in the Arlanza area off Van Buren Blvd.
Ladies, please call first before you go to Camp Anza, or call when you arrive there. They keep the doors to the big main building locked, and the Mercy House Services office is upstairs. They won't hear you knock!
Ask for Sarah or Jessica.
